Dr. Diane M. Wynne

 



Dr. Diane Wynne is the Executive Director of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the New York State Education Department. In this role, she led the opening of a new office at NYSED and currently leads the direction and provision of statewide guidance and support to educators in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within New York State schools, in alignment with the Board of Regents DEI Policy. Prior to working at NYSED, Dr. Wynne has served as a Director of Wellness and Equity, Assistant Principal, School Psychologist, leadership coach, and educational consultant. 

Dr. Wynne has presented as a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator for a variety of audiences on a range of topics including systemic approaches to DEI, culturally responsive education, trauma-responsive systems, restorative practices, social-emotional learning, and community engagement in DEI efforts. She has shared her work in the areas of DEI and mental health on podcasts, at local and national conferences, at institutions of higher education, and in published articles for Vanguard and ASCD. Dr. Wynne’s doctoral dissertation on the role of the Culturally Responsive-Sustaining (CR-S) Education Framework in mitigating racial inequities within New York State schools was awarded the Exemplary Performance in Scholarship Award by St. John Fisher University. She has also been recognized with the Arthur L. Walton Jr. Alumni Award for Distinguished Executive Leadership by St. John Fisher University.
