Statement of Purpose
The NYS TESOL Higher Education Special Interest Group (HE-SIG) provides a forum for ESL instructors in Higher Education settings to exchange ideas and resources related to their practice in the classroom. HE-SIG seeks opportunities to foster discussion in a casual yet productive and informative environment.
Statement of Goals
The NYS TESOL Higher Education Special Interest Group (HE-SIG) is dedicated to:
- Exchanging of classroom methods and techniques
- Promoting innovation in the higher education classroom
- Applying theoretical perspectives to classroom practices
- Supporting advocacy efforts relevant to ESL instructors, learners and programs
- Creating opportunities for participation in professional development events
