Description: The English Language Institute (ELI) at Pace University is accepting applications for the position of two (2) non-tenure full-time staff instructors. These positions include a comprehensive benefits package. The ELI provides intensive ESL instruction, intensive English for Academic Purposes, and university ESL support courses.
Responsibilities:
Teach full-time (up to 18 contact hours per week, 40 weeks per year with an additional 4 weeks of placement.)
Administrative duties (17 hours per week) including but not limited to:
• Develop curriculum, course, and evaluation materials.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to instructors.
• Attend all faculty meetings, staff development and in-service training.
• Advise and counsel students throughout the semester, including pre-registration and placement testing sessions.
• Participate in placement testing 6 weeks throughout the year.
• Conduct professional development workshops.
• Submit syllabi for courses taught; grades, student evaluations, and attendance records.
• Serve on program committees.
• Design or conduct mini-academic support seminars for students (1 per session).
• Present at professional conferences.

Required
• Master’s Degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or closely related field
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a university based intensive EFL/ESL program
• Experience in teaching across program levels and skills
• Experience in communicative language methodology, task based learning, and proficiency in using technology as an integrated component of classroom instruction
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an instructional team
• Native fluency and good command of written and spoken English

Description: Qualified ESL teachers required to lead English language classes for international teenagers at a NYC Language Camp.
LSC has been operating summer language courses for teenagers since 1999 and are British Council accredited in the United Kingdom.
Our courses focus on speaking, pronunciation and vocabulary and we use our own course book specifically designed for summer vacation courses.
We are looking for teachers Mon-Friday daytime 9am-5.30pm from July 2012 for 4-6 weeks.
We can also offer residential positions on the camp.
Qualification: While we are looking for TEFL-qualified staff, we occasionally employ people who have other relevant qualifications or experience, so it is always worth applying. If you cannot be considered for a teaching job we may consider you for a non-teaching role.
